![]() Support forums flooded with questions- What is going on? Do I have a virus? How do I get rid of it? What is up with the green checkmarks?! For example, if you had a Word document, when you looked at it in Windows Explorer there would be a green checkmark on the icon. Recently, a whole bunch of people started getting green checkmarks beside their document icons. Not when you're on a website that has a few links, a lot of JavaScript etc.We all know that staying up to date with software is generally important, but sometimes it can have unexpected side effects. If you need me to simplify it for you, ask me and I'll be glad to simplify Yesterday I was on stackoverflow and every two seconds after a box disappeared, a new one appeared. But hey, maybe you didn't grasp the meaning of what I wrote. ![]() So, unless someone can't read English, those choices were clear in and out of themselves. That is NOT cool.Īlso, I have clear choices: one about the UI, another about the checkboxes, another one for both and then neither. Also, now everything is crammed up on the left side. Now it looks like a combination of Avast and a candied down style. NOT happy about that.Īs for the UI itself, it is not the same as what Avast represents. But hey, maybe you're not a serious internet user if you didn't notice that. And you would have noticed that the small checkboxes are obstructing the view. And clearly, I'm not the only serious internet user thinking that. So, yes I think that people clearly are not using web browsers if they're not seeing those pop up all the time. Seriously dude? After 3 seconds? Yesterday I was on stackoverflow and every two seconds after a box disappeared, a new one appeared. On top of things, the urls are OFTEN blocked by the green checkmark. But seeing how the new engine is destroying the feel I had as a user, it feels confusing more than anything for me." I fell in love with the functions (which were VERY user friendly, well for a programmer like myself anyhow).Īvast has always had all the nifty option tweaks I could work with, unlike any other antiviruses out there. ![]() A shame, because I've always loved Avast since the first time I had tried it. Assuming the changes are not reverted back to what they were in the last engine (OR greatly improved over the current version), I am sad to say I might go back with Kaspersky. These changes are ones that might bring me to not renew my license with Avast once it expires. I am certainly not happy with the upgrade. And the checkmarks was unobtrusive with the other engines. The the other engines that I have seen as a paying customer, I was fine with them. This is the only complaint I have ever had with Avast. And then it takes like 10 seconds to disappear. It's NOT.Īs a paying customer, I find that so frustrating that I'll have to remove that feature. I can't believe someone thought this was a good idea. The second concern I have is the annoying popup that appears every time I hover over the green checkmark (you know, the one that says that a link is safe). Images? It was perfect how it was with the last engine. At least with the other one, we had actual titles that could be READ from the get go. Everything is just crammed to the left hand side like a pile of confusion. The new one is terribly confusing and not user friendly one bit. The one that came right before was MUCH better. Am I the only one who believes this? I have sent a complaint to Avast, stating the following:
